This is my interpretation of classic penny loafers — an attempt to move beyond conventional perceptions of this silhouette.
The shoes appear to tear open at the front and are then stitched back together with thick, “surgical” seams — a metaphor for living “flesh” in anatomical footwear. The exaggerated strap resembles a bandage wrapped around an unhealed wound.
I wanted to evoke a specific feeling: a classic form that has undergone painful rebirth, reshaped to match the true anatomy of the foot — yet still bearing the scars of its transformation.
Crafted from Italian vegetable-tanned horse culatta.
Designed with anatomical intent, these shoes follow the natural shape of the foot.
This model is made to order. No ready sizes available at the moment.
Natural marks — subtle stains, light scratches, and a developing patina — are inherent to this leather and will evolve with time, adding depth and character.
With wear, they age — just like the person who wears them.
